Good Lord.

In one of our suburbs (you know, where nothing, well...bad is ever supposed to happen) the police stopped this guy that was driving erratically down the highway, and he looked extremely distressed. They went to his house for some reason, and lo and behold, they found his mother's head sitting on the porch like some macabre jack-o-lantern. WTF is WRONG with people? How can someone chop off their mother's head, leave it on the damn porch, and then drive their ass across town?

And if that's not enough, on the other side of town, come cops went to this house with a warrant for drugs, and found a three-year old boy chained to the bed because he "stole food." The cops (not seeing the chains at first) asked him to go into the livng room with his mom. He replied that he couldn't because he was chained. Not only was he chained to the bed, he even had one attached to his neck like he was some sort of dog. He calmly told the cops where the key was, and once free, ate everything the cops gave him, and never stopped saying "please" and "thank you." The kicker to this story? These were foster parents. You know, when a parent fucks up, and the kid goes into the system? Supposely someplace safe? Yeah, right.

After reading about this crap and other things...I've come to this conclusion:

There are some things in life you should just go straight to hell for. Immediately. Do not pass Go, do not collect 200 bucks, just go straight to hell. And not the version of Hell the Clash sang about in that song either. If you're not a Christian and you're this foul, you will not be exempt; it's off to hell for you too. I'm not perfect, not by a long shot. But if you can cut off yoru mom's head and leave it on your damn porch for all the neighbors to gawk at you need to go to hell! And speaking of neighbors, WTF? A damn head, just sitting on the porch of a house that is close to the street and nobody calls the police? What is up with people? Are we just that jaded that we could just walk down the street, notice someone's head just chilling on their front porch and just walk on by?

What a sad, sad world we live in. The world is completely insane. Just when you think you are wrong about that and its going to be okay, some nutter proves you wrong.

Just finished watching "Gummo" again. Completely forgot how damn disgusting that movie is. I won't be able to eat for a week at least.

In other news, have job interview tomorrow. Whoo-hee-hoo.

Feelign a bit better about things...but Brrrr....Dammit, it's STILL cold! >:(

Normally I like the cold, but this is some seriously chilliness.

In other news, still playing FF8...and it's weird....playing this game again brings back all sorts of good memories, of Dark Secrets, and FFHW, and FFWA, Gamergirl, Timber Maniacs Underground, Wheres.com, and all the wonderful people from way back when who are still the same decent people I first met long ago. But anyway just finished the whole "Let's chase the Lunatic Pandora through Esthar" sequence, and here are my thoughts.....

¥ Rinoa is still annoying, and the way she bobs her head makes me want to bitch-slap her.
¥ What the HELL is Selphie constantly checking the bottoms of her boots for? Blobra shit?
¥ Seifer and Zell fighting still has the ablility to crack me up.
¥ÊCid is a big-ass chicken-wuss. How on earth did he get the job as headmaster of Garden? Nepotism, anyone?
¥ Out of the Laguna party, Kiros was clearly the brains of that operation.
¥ WTF is up with Laguna visiting Edea to ask about some damn Ellone, when all the time his son is at the orphanage? No father of the year award for that one.
¥ Quistis giggles waaay too much. Especially about things that aren't funny.
¥ A Tricked-out Siren can really fuck monsters up.
¥ Ditto for the Tonberry King.

and finally....

¥ÊEdea can run her ass off in that tight-ass skirt! Really!

OMG....is there anyplace on the planet that is as cold as here right now? I mean, other than Alaska or something?

In other news, Grandmere pulled through at the hospital once again, which is good. For a minute there, I thought that I was going to lose two grandmothers in one week. I came home Friday night w/Ronin after eating out at Ye Olde Noodle Shoppe to my mom saying "sit down" and then telling me that my dad's side of the family had been trying to get in touch with me to tell me that my grandmother passed and the funeral was THAT DAY. So I missed it. I have a bad tendency to go into myself too much when I'm going through trauma, so when I moved I didn't contact anyone with my new number. NOT a good thing. :( Got to see my half-sister and my nieces and nephews though, which is always nice, but I feel like shit on a stick for missing her funeral.

it is sad...is it not

that one gets so busy with the business of living life, that you tend to take for granted that people will always be there

and then one day, you get a phone call, and discover that you've simply.run.out.of.time.

and you realize that you were so busy watching for Death at your backdoor that he simply used another avenue instead.

Better late than never....*plug*

Gig update...

Called Bouncy to see wth was going on and she said they haven't even gotten a chance to interview the other two applicants! So another two weeks of wondering, but oh, I am not resting on my ass, oh my brothers and sisters...as far as I'm concerned, whoever wants me to sign on the dotted line first can have me.

wonders if that sounds....subversive.

Anyways, just for a lark, I sent off a resume to one of two ad agencys I would even think about whoring myself out too. Surprisingly, they actually responded:

"M-------,

Thanks for your interest in [name of agency I would chew off my right pinky finger to work for].

We1re sorry to report that right now, we have all the staff we need. Which
is unfortunate, since the people who work here are sick of each other, and
would love to have someone new to make fun of.

With additional clients, our hiring needs will certainly change, so we would
encourage you to keep in touch. Judging by your resume, you've got a really
nice portfolio. If it is ever convenient, send us a link or some samples in
case we are ever in a position to outsource some design projects.

In the meantime, we wish you the best of luck."

Would I be interested in outsourcing? You bet your ass! Very nice...very crazy. Sounds like a place I could run rampant...and their work is....twisted, to say the least. But very well executed. I'll check up on them in about six months to see what's going on regardless of whether I have a job or not. Because they had the decency to at least respond 2 days after I sent them my resume, which is more than what a lot of companies are doing right now. :/

*coughplugcough*

Started the heinous job of taping different summons, beginning with FF10, because I have a piece of crap computer and will have to digitize this shit BEFORE making screenshots and wallpapers, as opposed to already having said shit digitized (thereby bypassing "Old school" VCR to Premiere to rendering to digital" stage). Poor me. :( Also, still searching for the true myth behind Bahamut, because all the stuff on the web seems like it was copied from the same source, and somehow the definition doesn't....seem correct to me. Sadly, people are more apt to copying stuff they find on the Web rather than checking to see if said information IS TRUE. That's where the library comes in. Remember that place? Where you actually have to pick up a book...and read to get information? And compose things in your own voice? One bad thing about the internet is that it's made some folks powerfully lazy. For the clinically lazy, one can even get term papers and pass them off as your own. How trifling.

Also started playing FF8 again and the difference graphic-wise between the two is like DAMN! O_O. But I actually liked FF8...not so much the game, but for the memories of my life in that period of time when the game first came out, if that made any sense whatsoever. People can say what they will about FF8 sucking, but that game has some of the most hilarious dialogue in it...plus I can't play it without thinking about FFWA and Dark Secrets, lolol. Actually, in each of the FFs I found something to like; really can't understand people who will completely bag on a game just becaue it's not a "traditional" Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy 9 was supposed to be a game that went "back to basics" and the same purists had something nasty to say ABOUT THAT. Yet they spent their 50 bucks. Ugh.

Working steadily on the Muse layout. ^^

Speaking of news of the bizarre and psychotic (okay, we weren't but let's say we were) check this out. A young man, in love with his best friend's GF, does what he thinks would win the girl's heart- he invites his friend/rival over to play video games and gives him a "whack snax" in the form of a coke laced with cyanide...which was bought months ago using his mother's credit card. Besides the fact that it's extremely fucked up to KILL someone over a comely lass, what made him think she was going to go out with him after all that drama anyway? :/ WTF is this, the Middle Ages? As per usual, the "let's blame everyone except the person who done did the shit" cotillion is blaming everyone including (no surprise) the parents, the chemical company who sold the cyanide....everyone, it seems, except the young man himself. How sad that this young man felt that by killing his rival was the only way to get what he wanted. How equally sad that he felt that the young lady would fall for him, despite killing her boyfriend. How sad for his parents, who forever now will wonder: If I went over my credit card receipts more carefully, would I have been able to stop this. And the saddest fact of all is Ryan Furlough did this to his friend...a friend since grade school who thought he was simply going over to his friend's house to play videogames and eat...just like any other day.

In other, more petty news....the movie Chicago was just released....
*Wild applause*
...that was filmed in Toronto.
*silence*

WTF, people. What complete and utter arrogance. Do they honestly think that we from Metropolis don't have a clue, or would support a movie that bears our fair city's name, based on events that actually happened here, that was not filmed here AT ALL? No exterior shots, no "half and half"... NOTHING? I realize that it's somewhat....cost efficient to film in our fair city to the North. I've heard rumors that in certain Toronto neighborhoods, you would swear you were in Chicago....a Chicago with more diversity and summer events to rival anywhere (actually this part is especially intriguing, and I, London, Daughter of Ivory will investigate this fully when I acquire spare coinage to visit our neighbor to the North.) and is a true jewel of a city. That doesn't make it a less disgusting practice though, shooting "Chicago" movies elsewhere, and expecting your audience to be ignorant and not know the difference. In that Nysync movie, you could actually see the damn CNN Tower. Perhaps they thought that we would be fooled and think it was Sears Tower, I'm sorry. :/But as cheap as it is to film there, and as beautiful as it is, there is only one Chicago, and it is NOT in Canada.

In case you are left with the impression that I am anti-Toronto, no, that is not the case at all. I just have a HUGE problem with a movie that is NAMED Chicago, that is based on actual court cases in CHICAGO, that is filmed in TORONTO. In our downtown, we still have enough Art Deco buildings to film. They could have used the Cultural Center to double as the court building (a la Kevin Costner "Goodfellas") yet again. No, instead they decided to film in Toronto. no excuse for this. Even "ER" shoots exterior shots here! I, for one, will not spend one red cent to see this travesty. If you cannot film a movie called "Chicago" here in Chicago, then I cannot spend my Chicago money to see it. And in case you think I'm over-reacting, try asking a Toronto resident how they would like a movie called "Toronto" to be filmed in Chicago, and while you are running and ducking blunt objects you will discover just how lame a practice this is.

Well...turns out that Gran had pnuemonia, but she's doing better now, thank god. We were scared for a minute there! ^^

The "artist block" continues. In an attempt to do something else to jar the creativity back, I redesigned the splash page for Stranjevision, which now looks splendid, but still no juice for the Muse.

The Princess actually behaved like a human being today! *pause for wild applause* Who would have thunk it? It was actually Kupo who worked my last nerve. If he thinks I'm going to let him slide without doing homework and acting an ass at school, he's got another thing coming. -_- Those teen years are coming fast...too fast for me. Hopefully he won't get to that "I'm going to lock your ass up until you reach 18 and behave like a decent human being" stage. Just the fact that he's my son ensures that I'll probably be in for never-ending drama though. Ugh.

Grandmere went back into the hospital today. :( , and The Princess is STILL doing aggravating, annoying juvenile shit to get on my nerves, so I'll write of other things...

Last night was the preview of "Joe Millionaire." A bunch of gold-digging ladies duped by an average mo masquerading as Daddy Warbucks? Who would have thunk it? I laughed my ass off...especially when he picked every girl who was dark-haired first, leaving the blonde ladies who KNEW they were "in" to fume. Not saying that's it's not okay to want someone who can provide for you, but any woman who would go on a show like this knowing only that dude has 50 million dollars deserves all the shit I can sling her way. Not just that, that's like saying "Hey, you can be a complete shit of a person, but you have those dollars so it's okaaaayyy...."

Nagi, Aki. mi stucki, look mamis -_- A few more days, k?

Completely evil day. Called Bouncy to see about the job and found out that she's on a 3-day convention. Dammit...now I have to suffer a bit more! XD

I am so damn tired of my sister, I could just scream. Trifling. Sooo trifling. Trifling as in "I'm a princess so I get to do whatever and don't pay rent, don't pay for food, don't help with the food, I don't do anything! All I do is hide out in my room, wash dishes (when I feel like it) and make 2 meals a week that comes out of a box!"

Basically, people who don't contribute to their parent's household fund after begging to come back to the homestead deserve a good kick in the ass. Yet another example of people who need to grow the hell up..and fast.

Getting rid of that negativity, there's lots of pretty pretty going on:

I swear you make one new layout a month! ^^

Yay, she's back and with new layout, new outlook.*hugs*

Evil smashed fairies abound here, and a pretty tangerine color to boot! (btw, I completely relate to what you were saying here.) Online crap can get pretty brutal, but I draw the line at fucking with little kids; some things in life you simply don't do. :/

Is it just me, or have others noticed slight errors in The Two Towers?

Not in a "They broke from the storyline" type of way, but a "someone fucked up in makeup" type of way.

Actually, they're kinds fun to spot, like Merry's scar that keeps on traveling to different areas across his face...but I bet that a lot of people missed the one in the first scene between Gandalf and Shadowfax. He turns around sideways..and clear as rain, you can see Gandalf wearing..not he white boots he was wearing in the previous scene..but a pair of Converse hi-tops.

With the label visable and readable.

I rubbed my eyes and thought to myself...no, that can't possibly be a pair of Converse Hi-Tops he has on, but lo and behold it was. Then they switch to another scene...and then you see the white boots again.

Has anyone else noticed fun stuff like this too?

LOL, finally took one of those online tests, just to make sure I was not, indeed, a BAP. I think I'm prolly more of a butterfly/boho type, thank god, because all the Baps I know are...scary. Both of my sisters are dyed in the wool Bettys, and how the hell that happened the world may never know.

*takes test*

Okay, just as I thought...a boho/butterfly type.

Is it possible to be a broke Boho? Or a Artistic-bent Butterfly? Butterfly's always struck me as the ones in for social change (a good thing) have loads of ethnic art in their homes, but tend to have jobs where they can make CHANGE, such as social work and politics, and not have an artistic bent in their bodies, save for the art they buy by the truckload. Not a gurl's favorite thing.

*ponders*

I've known some Bohos who were broke for a minute, but the rents were pissed at them for something or tried to teach them some fiscal responsibility, and it didn't last for long.

Hmmm.....nahhhh...

One major difference between Bohos and Bettys I've seen is that bohos eventually make their own living because they get tired of having to explain to "The Man" (coughparentscough) why the hell they're 30, have 2 BAs and still haven't got that first job yet. Bettys have a tendency to...find people to take care of them.

Actually, why Boho's are even considered subsidaries of Baps makes me wonder if that's not a mistake...Bohos are so far away from bap-dom it's incredible.

Hmmmm...scratch that...I know some spoiled ass bohos too...

But one thing I have seen a lot of, and that's the Bogus! LOL! Try-hard comes to mind, poor things...there's a fine line between a Bap and a Bogus...

Actually, if you put it that way, perhaps a butterfly is the best thing to be.

*ponders*

*sigh*

That's why I dont take these crazy tests, dammit!

HAppu New Year! ^^
*is surprised she is not hung over*
Finally saw The Two Towers last night, and my impression is as long as you keep in mind that this is a movie BASED on the book (and not an exact copy) you'll love it. Naysayers can say what they will but Peter Jackson had a huge job on his hands that he accomplished nicely, and if you think he could have done it better than he than you should try directing and SEE HOW DAMN EASY IT IS. But then again, it's always easier to criticise than create, now isn't it? :/

Anyways, I loved the Ents, Helm's Deep was..pretty deep, and Gollum should be the first CG character ever to win a little naked Golden Man for Best Supporting Actor. Viva le Gollum! ^^

Applause: Lots of things, but being yourself no matter what, good design, anime, good books, videogames, foreign films, relaxing, and water are at the top. Now for those of you who find this list boring, bear in mind I could have said I liked sunrises and walks on the beach.
Tomatoes: Too many to mention, but arrogance, judgemental people and those who just don't give a damn rate high on the list. Have you noticed how some can dish it out, but get pissed off if someone treated them the same way they treat others?
Layout whorage bought to you by: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. I LOVED this movie, so much better than the first one IMO. This is partly a screencap of the beginning of the DVD mixed in with some menacing trees and other refinements. Ah, the miracle and wonders of Photoshop, but anyways, I figured that it would be fitting, since an archive is a graveyard of sorts.
