Gotdamn you, Air and Water Show!

The stupid planes turn around directly above my HOUSE, for gotsakes. My glass won't stop rattling in the windows, Hellfang won't sstop howling, and the cat...well, I haven't seen her in daylight for a while. Thank goodness today is the last day.

Went to a friend's daughter's birthday party in the park today, and got to see several dog owners watch their dogs take mean shits in the grass while not cleaning it up. And this neighborhood was posh, too! It never ceases to amaze me, and I bet all the cash in the bank that these are the same people that can't understand why dogs are now banned at the new and improved Grant Park. Um, maybe its because you nasty asses don't clean up after your animals and therefore we all must be punished? There's been many a time when I've gone to the Petrillo music shell to hear some music and almost plopped down in a pile of shit. Nasty, nasty nasty!

In other news, trying to rent this apartment (so we can move) is slow going. Looks like it's going to be an October move. :(

The B-day is rolling around in a few days, and I have no idea of what Ronin has planned.

But I know what I want!

GIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMENOW!

Okay, I'm over it now, (not really) but it's really hard to get Antonio's work in print. Antonio's Girls is out of print, and someone already stole it from the public library here. Every branch. I checked. So I can't even LOOK at the damn thing, much less own it. And a decent copy will set you back $100+

So three cheers for this publisher who is rereleasing his work.

FINALLY went to see Harold and Kumar, and it was pretty good. Not as funny as I originally thought, but worth the money, definitely.

More FFVI tidbits: Man, Kefka's a complete and utter BASTARD! Good lord. I wish they made FF villians the way they used to...I'm about a quarter of the way through the game now (just met Seltzer and went to another continent, after that opera show) and already I hate his evil clown ass.

Holy crap!

What the HELL did this guy do to deserve THIS? Seems like you would have to seriously piss SOMEONE off to end up in pieces in a bag.

On another note, things are going...pretty well, just busy. Saw Kupo off at the airport to visit his Nana for the rest of the summer, and everything you've ever heard about airport security is true. Hell, they even ran one of those wand thingys across my hair! But it was worth it...I waited with him at the gate until they called his flight, gave him a huge hug and kiss and told him I loved him, then watched, blubbering, as the big bird took off in the sky, taking him away from me.

The melancholy lasted for all of about 5 minutes when I realized that for the rest of the summer I wouldn't worry about:

1. The house being torn apart when I get home from work
2. Making sure someone has a) taken a shower b) eaten something other than junk food all day, despite all sorts of healthy things being in the fridge and c) having to scream "Didn't I tell you not to do (insert whatever)" for the rest of the summer
3. Having to scream "Turn that DOWN!" every five minutes.

I love my son, I truly do, but sometimes, parents need to unwind and recharge our batteries. That's when summer camps and grandparents come in. The kids have a great time, the parents get to kick it, and everyone gets time out and are refreshed and happy by the time the school year rolls around, because kids get as sick of us parents as we get annoyed with them. This way, instead of being in the house bored out of his mind he's kicking it with Grandma, swimming, riding horses, seeing friends he hasn't seen since last summer and enjoying her air conditioning (which I wish like HELL we had). All the same, it's strange, him not being here.

But not strange enough that I'm not enjoying the silence.

In other news, a certain deadbeat has until August 11 to GTFO, otherwise his belongings will be in the shopping carts of the scavengers in the neighborhood rolling down the street. About frigging time.

Applause: Lots of things, but being yourself no matter what, good design, anime, good books, videogames, foreign films, relaxing, and water are at the top. Now for those of you who find this list boring, bear in mind I could have said I liked sunrises and walks on the beach.
Tomatoes: Too many to mention, but arrogance, judgemental people and those who just don't give a damn rate high on the list. Have you noticed how some can dish it out, but get pissed off if someone treated them the same way they treat others?
Layout whorage bought to you by: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. I LOVED this movie, so much better than the first one IMO. This is partly a screencap of the beginning of the DVD mixed in with some menacing trees and other refinements. Ah, the miracle and wonders of Photoshop, but anyways, I figured that it would be fitting, since an archive is a graveyard of sorts.
