It's amazing how people get upset when someone does to them what they (or in some cases their friends) do to others, isn't it? Smacks of hypocrisy, doesn't it? A good rule of thumb (and something my dear sister The Princess would care to remember) is this: If you don't like it when people treat you in a certain manner, then you shouldn't do those things to others! Or, at the very least, when people close to you do them to others, shouldn't you say "That's not a very nice thing to do?" In other words, if you are noticing your own shitty, obnoxious behavior in other people, don't get mad at them for doing the same things to you that you have done to others. Perhaps it's time to check yourself and see how YOU can be a better person. I'm not going to step off into the family dramarama that prompted that lil happy household hint (or at the very least, a good New Year's Resolution for the petty and sad) soIll talk about something more pleasant: teh holidaze and all that jazz. It's driving me batty, and I still have to stop off at Archer's exchange gifts. In a way, I'm glad I'm the only one in my house who really celebrates...otherwise I think I would be quite mad at this point. I'm also v. glad that little sister's dad is on the path of recovery , Elf Girl is in good spirits, The Shortcake is having a great time with the new addition to the family, and looking forward to the treat that Baby sister and friend has in store for us. in fact, I'm glad that all my friends offline and on are doing okay despite trials, and I wish that things will be even better for us all next year.
So on that note, I bid you all a happy Ramadan, Hanukah, Yule, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and Tet!

Love is... going to the post office... reading a magazine over your lover's shoulder.... when you cook the chicken while he makes the spagetti sauce. dancing to old Cure tunes... visiting a gazebo at night, lit up with christmas lights you said you wanted to surprise me as the fairies of my childhood looked upon us in happiness. and finally... when you can sit for hours....doing something mundane like wrapping x-mas gifts and not say a word while the silence speaks volumes. I have been in love before. but I don't think I've ever fully realized how much in love with you I am until tonight.

Still in a WTF mood, but it'll pass. If someone makes a judgement call not to like me based on how I look that's their damn problem and issues, not mine. If someone looks at the subject matter of my work as opposed to the techniques, well, all I have to say is I'm glad I'm at a stage where I don't look to other people for validation for my work. For any type of artist, to expect support and approval widescale like looking at the sky and saying it's pink. Because everyone's a critic. THe problem is when people give you the up and down BEFORE they see your work. Bah. And I STILL can't find any plum wine, dammit! Finished wrapping and packing stuffies for people who live out of town, and I'll be taking a friendly trip to the Post Office tomorrow so Ms Moon, Little Sister, Baby Sister, and a Mystery Person will be getting their gear soon. May not be there in time for Christmas, but it will get there. For everyone else who I know online and I didn't send anything too, it's not because I don't like you, it's because of faulty pockets. ^^ Kupo got the better of me the other day. We were in Borders with Ronin when he made a beeline to the magazine section. I was looking at the Santuary Books I don't have when suddenly... kupo: mom...mom...you lied to me... me: bout what? kupo: gandalf. me: no i didn't...he fell into shadow, remember? He gone. kupo: well, according to this book he's now gandalf the white. me: (cursing magazines that give the scoop) nope..that was taken at the hobbit party. he wanted to look festive. he's still gone. kupo: don't try to trick me any more! It says right here that he came back! he beat the balrog and now he's gandalf the white! ronin: hahahahaha... me: dammit.... Now I can't tease him about not knowing what happened to Gandalf anymore. Damn teasers...

Ugh. What a complete and utterly shitty day. Lacking a "redo" button on time, I shall find a bottle of plum wine to drown my sorrows with. edit: Well, I saw one thing to cheer me up...MISPRINTED TYPE is back up and running! I thought that Recife had closed the site for good when he posted that notice up..it's one of the better typeface/brush/web sites out there, adn I love his work.

Almost finished shopping, and will send out everyone's gifts on Friday. Hopefully they will get to where they need to go in time for the holiday. I'm looking forward to spending the holiday over at Ronin's house watching Kupo dig into his presents and just relaxing. Everyone's been uptight over here lately, it ll do good to get away. The thing I'm looking most forward to is what I call our annual LOTR New Years. Last year was our first New Year's as a couple and instead of going out to the club and clowning, we went and saw LOTR and then went someplace a little bit more intimate and drank plum wine and generally had a god time. So we decided that for each New Year there's a new Ring movie coming out we would go see it. Interview was moved to Thursday due to Bouncy's schedule. Go me. Nagi I hope everything comes works itself out; I'm sending good thoughts your way. I got your gift today and it's beautiful! Thank you ever so much; I count myself lucky to have you as a friend and I feel horrible that you are going thru so much now.

Almost done Christmas shopping for everyone IRL except I need to pick up a couple more things for Ronin and Kupo and get Ms Moon's present, and ship out everyone's goodies on Saturday. If Kupo pisses me off any more, He won't be getting a damn thing though....*growls* Hm...as a matter of fact, I'm not getting him anything else-between Me and Ronin, he's just horribly spoiled. Went to fav used book store in my old neighborhood and did NOT find the book I was trying to find for Ronin. I DID find a copy of Batman's Arkham Asylum (in hardcover!!!!) and new writings in the bathroom. The Bookstore is in one of the Artist districts in Metropolis, so people are constantly going to the small bathroom and writing quotes and stuff on the walls. There was a great Limerick in there about someone from Tibet, a brick vagina, and chafeness but I can't remember how it went to repeat here. What did gross me out is that the "Foot Freak" of Artist disrict had once again dropped off one of his ads (a drawing of a woman's foot, complete with polish, and cute swirly type about how he wants to "worship you toes" complete with telly numbers you could rip off and take home) and you could imagine what people scribbled in response to that. AFter leaving, I bumped into one of my fav teachers from college, yay! Drove around for a bit with him while we exchanged email addys and talked shit about school and other refinements. So glad I bumped into him...he was the one to introduce me to Silent Hill, and I would always tease him about all the fashion design girlys who suddenly developed an interest in webdesign or would just make up reasons to talk to him (yes, he is a hottie!). Awesome guy, and v. glad that I met up with him again! ^^ Came home. Ugh. Must get that job so I can move...present situation old as hell.

Can I get an amen? This woman is my new hero, thanks to this post in her weblog, which I found looking at someone else's weblog. If people actually followed her suggestions while searching, perhaps I wouldn't be visited so much by the Secretive Society of Stupid Sick Shitnuggets looking for child porn!

Damn, but this sucks roach shit. Wanna know what else sucks? Shitnuggets coming to your weblog looking for child porn. Shitnuggets looking for Mother-son porn in paticular. Which has never been, nor will ever be, offered here. Shitnuggets that, if they keep it up, will be reported (complete with evidence) to their ISPs, as well as any other place where you will have to explain just exactly why you were looking for shit like this in the first place, to preferably someone resembling some sort of law enforcement. Consider yourself warned. edit: oh yes, I stickied this at the top.

More new layouts for things than you can shake a stick at! I guess this is the season for making new layouts and becoming inspired. Bouncy called yesterday to invite me back to meet her boss! Apparently I'm one of 3 people that they want to see a second time....out of about 300! I never thought I would see the day when the odds of getting a job would be like winning the damn lottery, but there you go. :/. Bouncy already gave me the heads up on what to expect, so I should be okay...trying hard not to think about it, really. Butterflies in stomach.

*finishes up Kingdom Hearts w/Sora at lvl 90 to see ending* Excuse me, but wtf was that?? Maybe I got the crap ending or something. Maybe I do need to beat Sephiroth, the Aladdin sand monster and that thing floating around the clocktower to get good ending. In other news, they have some wonderful posters for The Two Towers in the theatres now! *has full intentions of snagging one* The two featuring Galadriel, Arwen, and Elowyn, and Saruman holding the palantir are my favs.

Another day, another layout! ~_^ More of the white shiny stuff came down yeterday. Not the best day to go on a job interview, but not the worse either. As if I'm not immature and crazy enough, ithe interview was at a publishing house. For children's books. The day before, I talked to this groovy lady (who for the purpose of this log I'll call Bouncy) for over an hour. I don't know why a lot of people who talk to me all of a sudden make me into their Mother confessor- they just do. She said she got good vibes off my resume so she decided to give me a call about a design position. Bouncy didn't disappoint in the flesh, either. She had a Kelly-Osbourne persona with lovely huge green eyes and a seriously fierce graduated bob that just bounced and flipped all over the place before going back to its original dimensions. Really amazing hair. Beautiful office...and really nice people. Everything about this position is perfect....the people, the job itself, the type of work I"ll be doing, the distance from my home...everything. I gather they've had some real prima donna problems from the questions she asked: Bouncy: Well, we really believe in having someone here who really believe in teamwork. We all work together here. That last bitch that was here thought it was all about her. We're trying to avoid that. Bouncy: We really try to have an enviorement here where everyone will be happy and complement each other... Not like that mistake we made last time. We're really trying to avoid drama queens this time around. Whenever I go on an interview I try to look at everyone who works there...not just upper management. Let's put it like this: Just trust me when I tell you that you don't want to work at a place where everyone is walking about looking....vexed, okay? But anyways, she loved my work, I passed the Quark test with flying colors, and I'll know something in a couple of weeks. She kept saying things like "Well, I want to let you know by the 20th so you can attend the Christmas party so you can meet everyone in one shot" but that may not have been a freudian slip; she might say that to everyone. She did admit that she liked me best of everyone she interviewed so far, so that's a good sign. To be honest with you, I liked this company the best out of all the interviews I've been on thus far, and I'll prolly be mad as hell if I DON'T get it, but in the meantime I'll keep seeing other companies until I actually hear something.

One of the worst things about living in an city that sits near a lake and is too close to Canada is whenever they get shitty weather, we get it too but by God, today it was like Santa himself took a crap in the sky and shat blizzards. Big, fluffy flakes, like manna, light and flaky. It was fun at first. Then it kept on, through the day. Of course, whenever the weather even looks like it's going to be cold in Metropolis, it brings on the most hated of our winter traditions here: The tradition of of standing at the bus stop and thinking "Where the @^#$ is that damn bus, and why does it take an hour to come and when it finally does come, there's 3-4 of those cheap shits in a row?" Below is an actual sample of conversations going on at the bus stop: Me: Dammit....where the hell is that bus? Hispanic couple: *all hugged up and toasty* Oh, mi corazon...oi papi! *hug, smooch* Elderly hispanic guy: Ah, I should have worn more clothing! Gay guy: Now see there...damn bus always late when it's snowing...I'll bet if those fucker's checks were deducted every time they're late, they'll have their asses on time! Other gay guy: *to couple* Get a room! Old Black woman: Leave them be! At least they warm! Mind your business! 20 minutes later: Blonde chick with flippy ponytail: That's it! I'm catching a cab! *storms off* Me: I'm not paying another fare..I don't give a damn..I've been out here for a half an hour for a bus that is supposed to come every ten minutes! Other gay guy: If they ask me to pay another fare because my transfer has expired, A'hm gonna tell that bitch to kiss my ass! *noxious fart aroma fills bus shelter* Gay guy: Bitch, you farted! Other gay guy: Bitch, how dare you try to cut on me? For all we know, it could have been your ass! Little Kids at stop: *gigglegigglesnortsnort* Old Hispanic guy: Oi...where's the bus...so cold...so cold.... ¥Little Baby in Mother's Arms: *gurglegurglegurgle* Black lady: Here...stand under the heat lamp then...you should have dressed better! Other gay guy: Fuck you! Bitch, you know that was you! Gay guy: No, fuck you! Hispanic cuddly couple: Mmmmmmmm.....*smooch, smooch* Me: Where. the. FUCK. is. the. bus! I'm not paying again! Yuppie couple: *strolling up to the stop* Um..Excuse me, but how long have you been waiting? Everyone: *glareglareevileyeglare* Couple: Ahhhh....we see....*flags down cab and hops in* HS girls; *walking up* how long ya'll been waiting? Me: about 45 minutes. HS girls: DAYYYUM! Shit, let's catch the El....*leaves* 12 minutes, numerous snowflakes and 2 arguments later: Black lady: The bus! It's almost here..... Everyone: Hurrah! ^_^*cheercheercheer* Black lady: There's also 2 buses right behind it! Everyone: #^^&%$&$^$#%@%^%^&%*%#%@!!!!!!! Just your average day at a busy bus stop on a snowy day in Metropolis! ¥note: actually, I think it wasthe baby who passed gas.

Went shopping again today, and pretty much got all that anyone's going to get for the holidays today. Stick a fork in me because I'm done. Muy tired, comprendre? XD Now I have to check into how much for shipping, insurance or just making it registered mail (to make sure goods reach final destinations) because anyone who lives here KNOWS how raggedy the USPS can get, and I want to make damn sure that things reach the intended parties. Personally, I wouldn't send anything but letters regular mail thorugh our postal system; they tend to have too many "accidents" where they look in somebody's garage who worked for them 15 years ago and found mail dated way back in the day. People end up getting military checks from their husbands from WW2, that sort of thing.
