I'm still in mourning, I am.

Over the weekend, my computer just.....died. Upon trying to restart it, I was greeted by the ominous sounds of the "click of doom." No grey apple on the grey screen, no DOck, nothingness. Just a grey screen.

When rebooting with the Startup disk, I made the unpleasant discovery that according to Disk First Aid, I no longer HAVE a hard drive.

After letting out a mighty wail that I'm sure the good people Downstate heard, I did what any self respecting parent would do. I gently bundled my baby in its original box, and Ronin and I rushed her to the "Doctor" to find out what was wrong. After a mad dash to the genius bar at the local Mac store, the Tech uttered the dreadful words "Your harddrive is...gone." As in "unable to retrieve a damn thing off it." Also as in "Humpty Dumpty won't be able to put this bitch back together again unless you replace the harddrive."

WTF, it's only a little bit over a year old. Just long enough for the damn warranty to expire on it. And just because I had my old mac for 4 years with nary a problem, stupidly I thought that the extended care warranties were just a waste of money. Well, my brothers and sisters, I am paying for that stupidity. To the tune of $280 bucks to purchase and install a new harddrive. Whereas if I purchased the damn Applecare in the first place would have been for free. Yes, I'm STILL kicking myself.

Applause: Lots of things, but being yourself no matter what, good design, anime, good books, videogames, foreign films, relaxing, and water are at the top. Now for those of you who find this list boring, bear in mind I could have said I liked sunrises and walks on the beach.
Tomatoes: Too many to mention, but arrogance, judgemental people and those who just don't give a damn rate high on the list. Have you noticed how some can dish it out, but get pissed off if someone treated them the same way they treat others?
Layout whorage bought to you by: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. I LOVED this movie, so much better than the first one IMO. This is partly a screencap of the beginning of the DVD mixed in with some menacing trees and other refinements. Ah, the miracle and wonders of Photoshop, but anyways, I figured that it would be fitting, since an archive is a graveyard of sorts.
